Community Advocacy & Legal Centre

Uses the centre every Tuesday, by scheduled appointment.  Has been using the centre since its opening.

This is a Non-profit community legal clinic, serving individuals with low income. To book an appointment call the Belleville main office at 1-877-966-8686

Mental Health Services

Attends  the centre infrequently  to meet with individuals and without an appointment to provide additional information on the services MHS provides.

Harm Reduction Task Force of Hastings & Prince Edward

We are a host location for the Needle Exchange Program.  The Needle Exchange Program is a service of the Health Unit and the community for local substance users.  There are many sites where new supplies (needles, sharps containers, and other safe injection equipment) can be obtained, and used supplies (needles and cookers only) are returned for disposal.  This service assists in the education of community members that Injection Drug Use is best addressed as a Public Health issue and not a legal one.  For more detailed information and other locations please contact 1-800-267-2803, ext. 237.

Occasionally brings individuals to the centre. No set schedule.

Beneficial for individuals who have housing needs, questions or are seeking some assistance.

Good Food Box host site.

A box of fresh vegetables and fruits and grocery staples is available for $20. The Good Food Box is distributed on the third Thursday of each month. Money is due by the first Thursday of the month.

Kingston

YMCA Kingston

The availability of 3 memberships to any consumers of the Centre to explore physical activity options and use the facility.  They are available to be signed out and booked in advance through the Centre staff.

Frontenac Community Mental Health & Addictions

Staff and Occupational Therapy students come into the Centre and facilitate groups surrounding the appreciation of music.  Different music genres and instruments are explored.

Street Health

Attend the Centre to offer various open groups to participants.

Providence Care

Attends the Centre and introduces individuals to the Centre.

Lennox and Addington Mental Health and Addiction Services

Collaborates with our centre staff and consumers for Social/Recreational  events as well as a Mandela making group on occasion.

Housing Action Lennox and Addington (HALA) committee

Committee member.  The role of the committee is to explore ways to help those who are homeless or precariously housed.

Hunger Elimination Committee

Committee member.  The role of the committee is to promote hunger issues in the community as well as organize an annual Food Drive.

Community Member

Local Dietician joins us annually to talk about healthy eating and healthy choices to get the most out of our bodies and keep our energy levels high and positive.

Mental Health Services

Co-facilitates with us various groups, offers topic specific and service awareness presentations .

CAS Angel Program

Our Centre staff, consumers and participants sponsor children through the CAS Angel Program each Christmas; raising some capital to provide toys, and clothes for local children over the holidays. We have been actively participating since 2008.

Run by Debbie Laughton from HPE Public Health.  The Clinic runs out of the centre on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month from 10am-2pm.
