Profile -CEO PSSEO

Chief Executive Officer- Belleville, Ontario

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead Peer Support South East Ontario’s (PSSEO’s) mission to provide support and services within South East Ontario to people who are living with addiction and/or Mental Health and seeking Peer Support as a ways and means of managing and working toward being well. 

PSSEO is a non-profit charity providing intentional Peer Support through Centres, in communities across South East Ontario, in partnership with community-based Addiction and Mental Health Service organizations, collaborating with three regional Ontario Health Teams (OHT’s), participating in a single point of access system (ACCESS MHA), and through Transitional Discharge Model (TDM) partnerships with area hospitals.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  

  • An accessible leader, mission-focused, results-oriented, and process-minded doer, who enjoys working with others, is adept at identifying and promoting important policy goals and aligns organizational priorities with community goals and needs.
  • A collaborative executive who excels at coaching, and guiding staff, who leads by example, mentors, and guides a small professional team to consistently achieve desired results, is experienced at collaborating and providing counsel to the Board.
  • An innovative, strategic thinker with a positive attitude and previous experience, who is solution focused, takes advice and feedback from staff, community partners, and key stakeholders to develop and implement strategy, experienced in meeting the requirements of, and maintaining long-term relationships with partners, and funders.
  • Skilled at fostering strong relationships with partner organizations, experienced in supporting people experiencing mental health and addictions challenges and familiar with the principles of recovery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; a succinct and accurate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Holds Master’s degree or equivalent education and experience in Health, Social Sciences, or other closely related discipline; a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a senior position (public or private sector) in the health care field.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, sound analytical thinking, an entrepreneurial mind-set, and excellent planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • A collaborative leader with proven experience in a union environment working with a voluntary Board of Directors, community partners, government agencies, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient French language skills considered an asset.

Peer Support South East Ontario (PSSEO) is actively recruiting for the positions of Director with PSSEO at the Governance level of the organization.  These are voluntary positions of significant leadership with the organization.

 

PSSEO’s Governance structure affords up to 12 positions.  Currently PSSEO is seeking interested candidates for vacancies, concentrating in the Counties of Leeds & Grenville, Frontenac, Hastings Prince Edward, Lennox and Addington, and Kingston area.

 

PSSEO is looking for those with experience and interest in:

  • The Francophone Community
  • Governance
  • Finance
  • Human Resources/Recruitment
  • Quality Improvement

 

The Directors of the Board shall be at least 18 years of age, demonstrate an understanding of intentional and deliberate peer support, be supportive of the Recovery Model, and possess experience and/or skills, which will assist the Board in its governance responsibilities.
